How is your scrap car value calculated?
Our scrap car value calculator estimates the cash value of your vehicle based on three key factors: vehicle type, condition, and age. Here is what each factor means:
Vehicle Type
Heavier vehicles like 4WDs, utes, and trucks contain more metal, which means higher scrap value. Sedans and hatchbacks typically fetch less, while vans and people movers fall in between.
Condition
A running vehicle is worth more because the engine, transmission, and other components can be salvaged and resold. Non-running vehicles still have value from scrap metal, while damaged or written-off vehicles have reduced parts value.
Age
Newer vehicles often have more valuable parts. Vehicles aged 6–10 years represent the sweet spot old enough to be affordable as used parts, new enough to have good components. Very old vehicles (20+ years) may have lower parts value but still have scrap metal worth.
Make & Model
Popular brands like Toyota, Holden, Ford, Mazda, and Nissan have higher parts resale value because there is more demand. European brands like BMW, Mercedes, and Audi can also fetch premium prices for their parts.
